"Welcome," in the Name of our LORD JESUS, The CHRIST!
Do you know what makes Pike - Rocky Point Presbyterian Church so special? It is the people whom GOD has called together to make this their spiritual home and claim one another as their spiritual family!
We come from all walks of life and parts of the country. We are farmers, fishermen and fisherwomen, professors, electricans, secretaries, and some of us are retired with and without disabilities; we live in mobile homes, apartments, farm-houses, and some live in even bigger homes. As the Pastor of this amazing Church, I am humbled to see the Church our LORD is building and the incredible folk GOD is bringing together. We are easy-going and nonjudgmental. We are fun and loving and servant-minded.
Our celebration of faith is a wonderful time of interesting worship - a mixture of old hymns and new praise songs. A mixture of liturgies that use the best of the ancient Church with innovations of the modern one. We celebrate our Worship together as GOD'S Family; and then give our children the option to go to "Wee-Kirk" (meaning little church), or our nursery and attend a Children's Service where JESUS is taught on their level so that they might know HIM as well as their parents do.
But we still have silence in our worship and a time to reflect and hear that "still small voice" of GOD. We do not clutter our learning with the bells and whistles that so many others may find attractive. We are people of the middle way - striving to make sure that the "new age" believer and the "old world" faithful are both fed and blessed in our worship of the LORD.
But the biggest blessing of our church is our size - big enough to offer your family what it needs to grow in our LORD, CHRIST JESUS, and small enough to truly be family - to be known and loved and cared for - as the Early Christian Church models our fellowships to be.
So we invite you to come and be a part of this amazing work of GOD. To feel fully accepted and loved - just as you are - just as GOD loves you. And to know for yourself how wonderful life is when you are one of GOD'S own.
GOD bless you and we pray to see you soon!
Rev. Jennifer C. Young-Thompson
Senior Pastor
